#HelloMornings Works for Me!

I'm back on the #HelloMornings bandwagon. I haven't actually been over to the weekly linkups, but I'm using the Twitter stream to keep myself accountable.

The first week was a bit rough - I was trying to do it sans an alarm clock again {see my vlog recaps from the August challenge here}, but I haven't been getting a solid night's sleep very often the past week or so due to kids deciding to climb in my bed during the night.

So, this week, I decided to use an alarm clock to help me wake up. I strongly dislike {hate} using an alarm clock, so I'm happy that my body is starting to adjust to the new wake-up time on its own!

Why does #HelloMornings work for me?
  • I'm not a morning person by nature - I'd much rather lay under the covers for hours, especially when it's cold outside.
  • I'm a much better mommy and wife {and all around person} when I start my day in the Word before my kids get up.
  • I like HOT coffee, and if I don't get up within two hours of my husband (who leaves for work at 7:00am), the coffee pot shuts itself and the coffee gets cold.
  • I need accountability - I have awful self-discipline issues {I mean well, but rarely follow through}, so checking in each morning helps to keep me going.
  • I get more done during the day if I get going early - if I wait til my kids are up, they occupy the start of my day, and then I am less productive throughout the entire day.

What does your morning routine look like?

Have you found a quiet time routine that helps you
to keep your focus on Christ throughout the day?

Right now, I'm still trying to figure out what it should look like in our new place...so much is still kind of chaotic...order is coming but not as quickly as I'd like. But definitely the times I manage to get up before everyone and have my quite time, and get dressed and going, really does make for a more productive day. If it makes you feel any better I need an alarm clock too! I envy those that can wake up at the same time every day without one!

This is something I need to work on too! I REALLY need to get up and get going before the rest of the family so I can have some "quiet" time early in the day. I'll have to work on this myself!

Ashley, I've been working through the #HelloMornings since this summer, and I still don't have it perfected! I'm not a morning person either, but I have finally found it easier to get up after having done it now for several months. Right now I need to work on a weekly schedule.

We seem to be a lot alike....I need accountability too or I just don't do it!

I used to be able to just "tell God" what time I wanted to wake up. But lately, with my sleep issue, it hasn't been working so well. I'm still struggling to get up with my alarm...

My day goes so much better when I get up before the kids, but I have so little self-discipline to make it happen regularly. Thanks for stopping by and sharing!

I'm still working on it day by day. The accountability definitely helps! Thanks for sharing... let's keep working on it together!
