Company Girls Coffee, 9.10
Wow... is it Friday again already?! This week has FLOWN by!
Last weekend, we were privileged to be treated by my in-laws to a weekend at one of our favorite places on this earth: Camp Barakel. Not only did they treat us w/ a weekend there, but they joined us for a fun weekend of Family Camp! It was a long drive (6.5 hours there, 7.5 hours back), but it was a GREAT weekend together as a family and hearing incredible preaching from the Word of God. It was a great privilege to introduce our kids to our "camp family" and share our love of Barakel with them. (My husband and I actually met at Barakel as camper counselors in college, and I started spending at least one week each summer at Barakel at the age of 8, ending only when I got married five years ago.) We hope to have the privilege of serving as resident missionary staff at Barakel some day.
This week, I've been playing catch-up from being unplugged for five days. I think I finally got caught up mid-day Wednesday, but then I realized I had a 3-4 page literary analysis paper due on Friday that I didn't have a clue how to write. I'm still working on putting it together, but I'm much closer today than I was on Wednesday!
An added bonus for this week has been the fact that my hubby's been on vacation all week. It's been so nice having him home with us and spending some quality time together as a family. I've been "on vacation" a bit in my mind, too, this week. I haven't been getting up early or running or even getting in the Word like I should be. I've been slacking in this department, so while I don't want to see him head back to work on Sunday, I'm looking forward to getting back into my "regular" routine!
Did you miss any of these posts on AP Freewriting this week?
- Monday: I shared my story: "Why I'm Going to School."
- Tuesday: I rambled as I attempted to recover after being unplugged for five days.
- Wednesday: We looked at what it looks like for God to be our Shepherd. And, a bonus post included a look at my "blah" wardrobe in hopes of winning an outfit for Relevant 10 from DownEast Basics.
- Thursday: Continuing the How to Pray for series, we looked at How to Pray for Your Pastor.

psst -- Ashley -- my last 2 semesters of college I worked part-time as a tutor in the campus writing center. Let me know if you'd like for me to look at a draft, or even just a pre-outline, of your lit. analysis. If I can help I'd be glad to.
Thank you SO much for the offer. You may find an email in your inbox in a
bit! :) I just need to focus on writing it now...
My hubby and I met at a camp where we were both counselors also! I love it when my hubby can be home on vacation...gives me a little peak at what retirement will be like!
Camp relationships are the best! :) Retirement will definitely be grand (in
35 years or so, lol) but lazy! :)
oh..thaanks so ,much for stopping by...I'm afraid I can't figure out how to publish your comment to my blog...maybe eldest daughter can help me when she comes down next! :0)
Sounds like a great weekend! But I totally understand about having to play catch up the rest of the week. I am still trying to catch up on laundry from our weekend away! I love a routine, also. I love it when my hubby takes off...but it totally gets us off kilter and it is nice to get back to normal!
Have a great weekend! Good luck with that paper!
Just uploaded the paper to my professor. Whew - glad that's done! :)
Looking forward to some Michigan football tomorrow afternoon - my last quiet
day at home w/ my hubby before we're back in our normal routine. Glad to
have had the "quieter" week this week, though.
Have a GREAT weekend, and thanks for stopping by!
Sounds like a fabulous week. It went by fast over here too.
Family Camp sounds lovely--we've never been able to do that. Enjoy the week to come.
Something about the long weekend helps to make the week go faster. Too bad
we don't have more of those! :)
Thanks for stopping by!
This was our first time getting to go to Family Camp. (My husband and I had
worked a number when we were on staff at a camp in Wisconsin for a year.) It
was a lot of fun, and I'd definitely recommend it. I loved the fact that
there were activities for ALL ages, so the younger kids were able to have
fun too.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment! I hope you have a
GREAT week!
