Random Ramblings, volume "I don't know how many..."

RR#1 - Today was Jenny's first day of "school".  I actually managed to get out of bed before 7am this morning and was ready to go before my anticipated starting time of 9am.  Feel free to visit our "homeschooling blog" to see pictures of our first day!

RR#2 - Today is the first of "first"s this week.  School today, 2s Story Time tomorrow, Cubbies and Bible Study on Wednesday.  That all combined with Kids' Market and a scrapbooking party on Saturday looks like a pretty full week!

RR#3 - I have a TON of couponing to catch up on - I haven't updated my database in over two weeks, PLUS I picked up two papers yesterday at the gas station, and found 21 extra Red Plum inserts sitting on top of them.  So, I have a bit of catching up to do.  I think Heather might get some extra inserts in the mail this week - if I remember to go to the post office.

RR#4 - I'm finally back to having an "errand" day during the week.  Since we hit up the library on Tuesday mornings (due to 2s Story Time), I'll be running all my errands on Tuesdays again.  CVS, WAGS, Owens, etc.  It's an all morning adventure!

RR#5 - Our pool is getting put away for the year.  I think we used it less than 10 times total.  It was just not a hot summer.  (And then, when it finally got hot, we were in the middle of trying to clean it and then had to wait for our landlord to put in a new spigot.)  Hopefully we'll be able to get more use out of it next year - the kids will be older and more likely to use it, I'm hoping.  At least we didn't waste a bunch of money on chemicals and whatnot this year.

RR#6 - I've been going through "Purpose Driven Life" in my devotional times lately, and I'm really enjoying the challenges at the end of each chapter.  It's definitely been helping (along with the completion of my previous devotional "Praying for Purpose for Women") me to start to see and understand my current purpose and what I'm supposed to be doing right now.  I was struggling to find meaning in the every day while I was home with the kids all day.  I'm a person who needs to be able to see tangible results in order to feel like I'm getting anything done, and being "Mommy" doesn't usually come with the tangibles.  I'm starting to be able to "measure" my "productivity" in ways other than just "tangibles".

RR#7 - I'm really enjoying my "new job".  It's a perfect fit for me.  It allows me to plan and organize, using my internet search skills, without taking a lot of brain power, allowing me to work on it sporadically and during my "down time".  It's nice being able to feel like I'm "contributing" again, even if it is only $30/wk right now!

I think I'm going to leave you with just 7 thoughts today.  After all, 7 is the "number of completion" in the Bible.  Time to get off the computer and read a book!
