"Love Has a Face", by Michele Perry
When Bethany House Publishers contacted me with the opportunity to review this book for them, I knew I had a lot of books on my plate, but it looked really good.
I want to give you a glimpse of what you will see when you pick up this amazing book for yourself. The following is an excerpt from the back cover:
Born without her left hip and leg, Michele Perry is no stranger to seeming impossibilities. So when she arrived in war-torn southern Sudan, with little more than faith in God's promises, she did what everyone told her was crazy: She opened a home for orphaned children in guerilla warfare territory.
With a deft pen, she recounts unforgettable stories of life in the bush - stories that capture the stark realities of caring for more than one hundred little lives in the middle of a war zone - and of the love and mercy of God she's found there.
Captivatingly honest, Michele takes you through her own life as well. From the slums of India to war-ravaged Africa, you will be swept away by her story of hope and the supernatural power of God in the midst of a broken and hurting world.
Since I knew I was going to be overwhelmed with the other books I'd already agreed to read and review, I asked my husband if he'd be willing to read it and review it this month, and he agreed. (I'm looking forward to reading it once things slow down around here based on his recommendation!) The following is his review of the book:
Simply told, yet powerfully impacting story of God at work in the African county of Sudan. Michele is a living example of 1 Cor. 13 in every way, and her selflessness has allowed the Holy Spirit to accomplish the most amazing works in her and through her to the lives of dozens of African children and adults. This book will give you a much clearer picture of God's loves and its far-reaching affects. You will be encouraged and inspired by reading it.
Be sure to pick this amazing book from Bethany House Publishers up at your favorite bookseller!
