Goals Update...
Have you ever noticed that getting up before 9am really changes the whole pace of your day (versus getting up after 9am)? I'm beginning to see a pattern.
I've been keeping track of certain "goals" on a daily basis for the past month and a half now. Each day, I check off whether or not I've worked on my Bible memory, had my quiet time, spent time in prayer, blogged, exercised, and done double-crunches. I also record the time I got out of bed (not the time I actually woke up, because there is usually a decent difference) and my weight each morning. I wanted to have a visual for each of these "goals" I have - I wanted to be able to see progress over time.
By recording these "goals", I've noticed some patterns:
- Sundays are the hardest day to have a quiet time, prayer time, and work on my Bible memory.
- When I'm "home" (in Michigan), I tend to put on about 5 extra pounds from all the food we eat while we're there!
- I haven't exercised in over a month (at least not based on the description on my "goal" checklist) or done any double-crunches. (My stomach is definitely showing the slack from that.)
- I've managed to get into a good rhythm for my QT, prayer time, Bible memory, and blogging. These things have become habits that are being done almost every day.
Q4U: Do you keep track of any "goals" on a daily/weekly basis? What "goals" are you working on right now? Do you thrive on routines or do they become too monotonous and cause you to wander from them? I'd love to hear your thoughts on any/all of this!
